Briquettes are clumps of carbonized wood and fillers that simplify the grilling process. They’re usually cheaper than lump charcoal.
Lump charcoal is the most natural way to grill because it skips fillers and gives you just pure, carbonized wood. It will get your grill hotter, impart the natural smoky flavor you desire (based upon the type of wood it is), and produced a low ash, low spark, natural burn in your grill.
